TECHNICAL SUPPORT

Choose with evidence. Test in your process.

Use your contents, equipment and performance targets to define a practical film evaluation.

SELECTION FACTORS

Four inputs that shape the specification.

Contents & contact

Describe the liquid, powder, granules or contact material. Share relevant composition, moisture and contact duration.

Equipment & process

Specify forming depth, sealing method, running conditions and any current film reference.

Use & removal

State the target water temperature, agitation and intended dissolution or removal conditions.

Storage & handling

Describe storage duration, humidity exposure, pack format and how the material is handled after opening.

DEFINE YOUR SPECIFICATION

A clear specification makes samples more useful.

Film dimensions

Thickness, width, roll length and any agreed tolerances.

Roll configuration

Core internal diameter, maximum roll diameter and winding requirements.

Appearance & finish

Clear or colored material; smooth or embossed surface where available.

Processing requirements

Forming, sealing, wrapping, shrink processing or conversion requirements.

Dissolution conditions

Water temperature, agitation, sample size and the endpoint you want to evaluate.

Finished products

Bag dimensions, seam construction, cover shape and packaging requirements.

SAMPLE EVALUATION

Compare the film under repeatable conditions.

01 / Record the baseline

Identify the sample grade, thickness, batch reference and conditioning history before comparing results.

02 / Check contact behavior

Evaluate the selected film with the actual contents or contact material under representative storage conditions.

03 / Run the process trial

Observe forming, sealing, release or other relevant process behavior on your equipment.

04 / Agree acceptance criteria

Record results and agree the required performance and final dimensions before confirming the order.

DISSOLUTION TEST RECORD

Record the conditions, not just the time.

For a useful comparison, record film thickness, sample dimensions, water volume, temperature and agitation. Define whether your endpoint is initial breakup, loss of visible film or another agreed observation.

Use the same method for all samples. These observations describe the test performed; they are not a biodegradation or environmental certification.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Request information for the selected grade.

Product data

Ask for the available grade-specific specifications and supply options.

Storage & handling

Request the instructions for unopened rolls, opened material and finished products.

Sample review

Send your current specification, test conditions and observations for discussion.

COMMON TECHNICAL QUESTIONS

Before you set a numerical target.

Can I use one dissolution time for every film?

Use a target tied to your selected grade and test method. Thickness, temperature and agitation must be stated alongside the result.

Can you confirm compatibility from the product name alone?

The product name is a starting point. Actual contents, contact conditions and sample evaluation are needed to assess suitability.

Which machine details should I share for pod film?

Tell us whether the machine is rotary drum, flatbed or another type, and include forming depth, sealing conditions and the current film specification.

Are all custom options available for every product?

Available dimensions, finishes and conversion options depend on the product. Confirm the combination you need before ordering.

Bring us your current specification.

Share a data sheet, process description or test result to begin a focused technical discussion.

FILM SELECTION GUIDE

How to Choose the Right PVA Water-Soluble Film

Choose a film by its job in your process, not by thickness alone. Start with the contents or contact material, packaging or removal method, equipment, target water conditions, and storage and handling requirements. Use this guide to narrow the product family, then confirm the grade with samples in your process.

Pod film and embroidery film serve different purposes

As a starting reference, detergent pod film is commonly about 75–90 μm thick and 30–50 cm wide. Smooth film is selected around forming, sealing, leakage resistance and compatibility with the formulation. Embroidery film is commonly about 25–35 μm thick, with some grades up to 60 μm; common widths include 90/100 cm or 180/190 cm. Embossed film is selected for support and stable running during stitching and removal in water. Both are intended for cold-water solubility with little or no visible residue under suitable use conditions. These ranges are application references; verify exact availability and performance with a sample test. The two film types are not interchangeable.

Choose a product family

Plan a useful sample trial

  1. Record the sample grade, thickness and conditioning history.
  2. Test against the actual contents or contact material under representative storage conditions.
  3. Run the film on the intended equipment and record forming, sealing, stitching, transfer or removal behavior.
  4. For dissolution comparisons, keep sample size, water volume, temperature and agitation consistent, and define the endpoint in advance.
